Cut a take in the editing room
Trim the flubs, split the take, slip a cut into place. Five short moves in QCam's editing room, each shown in a real screen recording.
Open the editing room
Every clip you record lands in Media. Tap a clip to open it, then tap Edit. The editing room opens with your take on a filmstrip timeline. Press play and the white playhead line follows along.
The playhead never moves; the film slides under it. Drag anywhere in the dark area below the filmstrip to move through your take.
Trim the start and end
Play until the moment your real take begins, then open Edit and tap Trim Start. Everything before the playhead falls away. Play on to where the take ends and tap Trim End. The false starts and the reach for the record button are gone.
Trimming hides footage, it never deletes it. The full recording stays in your library untouched.
Split the take
Park the playhead where you want a cut and tap Split. One clip becomes two, marked with a clapboard stripe at the seam. The jump buttons beside play hop straight to the previous or next cut.
Split is how you build jump cuts: cut, tighten each piece, done.
Slip a cut into place
Turn on Slip and drag a clip's body sideways. The cut points stay exactly where they are while the footage slides inside them, so you can pick a better moment without changing the length of anything.
Slip never changes your edit's timing. It only changes which part of the take plays inside the cut.
Change your mind freely
Undo and redo walk through every move you made. Tap Done and the cut is saved; the clip shows an EDITED badge in your library. The original stays safe, and Revert to Original brings it back any time.
Open the editing room
That is the whole cutting kit: trim, split, slip, undo. Shot on your phone, cut on your phone, and what you export is already the version you publish.
